Moving Day

Today was moving day. You'd think I'd be happy to be moving out of my 1 room hotel but I am not exactly over the moon. We are temporarily moving into a TWO bedroom apartment until we can finally move into our house. Don't ask details about that unless you want me to rip off your arm and club you with it. K Pumpkin? K!

Bigger than moving day perhaps was the fact that it was Ella and Jack's preschool orientation. They were dressed in their Sunday best the only clothes I had packed in their suitcases deemed nice enough for school. They turned out cute as ever! Right?

The orientation was pretty much uneventful and what you'd expect for such a thing. I felt like the odd mom out with all the other moms coming BACK to school asking each other how their summers went. I sat in my chair all alone and shed a tear knowing that if I were back at home I'd be dropping my kids off for their first day of school. Ok I really didn't cry but how am I supposed to get you to feel sorry me if I tell you I was there feeling lonely but sizing up all the other moms to figure out who I'd have to beat out to be room rep!

After orientation I went back to the hotel to pick up a "few" things George said he left behind. "It's only the toiletries and the food" he said. "You can handle it." Do I need to remind you that I only have ONE working arm? Perhaps I should remind HIM! I drudged out so much stuff including but not limited to 50 lbs of dry cleaning (NOT MINE), Lego airplanes, and a laundry basket full of bottled water, chicken nuggets, apples and cheese sticks (to name a few). Yeah that was light. Try pulling a laundry basket down the hall bent over, with one arm, while wearing a dress. I apologize to the man behind me in the lobby who may or may not have seen a little more than he bargained for! Needless to say there were enough Eff bombs dropped to restart the American combat mission in Iraq. I know I know poor George.

Before I knew it my lovely apartment was filled with smelly cardboard boxes and even smellier moving men but it is home. So we popped a squat on the floor in our dining room and did what I imagine every person does for dinner on moving day. We ordered pizza. Papa Johns! Nicholas declared himself the King of Papa Johns.

Alas there was no workout today (unless you include the laundry basket incident). Maybe tomorrow I'll leave all the boxes strewn about the place a go do a workout and declare myself Queen of procrastination!
