Then and Now

Ahhhhh Sunday morning.  Long ago Sunday mornings meant sipping coffee in my PJs, watching CMT Top 20 Countdown and maybe rolling into the kitchen for some pancakes.  Then I became a runner and now Sundays mean waking up at 5:30 am to beat the Texas heat and running the beginning of my long run as the sun comes up.

At this point in marathon training for Livestrong Austin Marathon (February 2011) we were wearing long sleeves and running in the rain.  Now we’re sweating our asses off and using every bit of strength to fight off the heat and stay hydrated and we haven’t seen rain in months.

Then we learned how to take a picture of our shadows and now… well now we do the same thing.

Then we were new friends just passing some miles together.  Now we’re best of friends sharing our lives and logging a few miles in between.

Nice closed eyes Susan.  I promise I’m not having a stroke!

So long Sundays of the past, welcome Longdays of the future!
