Major Life Changes

The past 24 hours have been so crazy.  Last night at 6:00 pm my life, and the life of my family changed.  My husband was offered the opportunity to do his same job that he does here in Texas at home in Pittsburgh, PA.

Now, with just 25 days until school starts, I am in a mad scramble to get my kids registered for school and their fall activities.  I really do NOT deal well with chaos or change.  As you can imagine, I'm not exactly over the moon about all we will be going through over the next three weeks.  Furthermore, both Nicholas and Ella had MAJOR breakdowns over having to move.  There is NOTHING worse than seeing your children sob.  NOTHING!

Having said all of that, I am extremely happy to be going back to Pennsylvania where I can be close to my family and many friends that we left behind.  The best way I can describe how I feel is to say that it is very bitter sweet.  I have met so many wonderful people here in Texas.  I've met friends who have become more like family to me and it's very hard to think about leaving them behind.  It's just heartbreaking for both myself and the kids.

It was hard to make the decision to move back home when we are completely happy in Texas.  We really love living here and all the opportunities it affords us.  We love the climate, the atmosphere and MOST importantly the FOOD.  I kid, I kid.  But seriously, there are some MAJOR things about Austin that we will miss terribly.

I'm so happy and thankful that I took every advantage that Texas had to offer me.  As soon as we moved here, we hit the ground running seeing so much of what Austin had to offer.  In fact, a lot of locals say we've been to more places in Austin then they have and they've been here all their lives.

I can honestly say that I do NOT regret for one moment the decision I made to move to Texas.  We have ALL grown and come so far and are a closer, and therefore better, family because of it.
I trust God that there is a greater plan for us (even if we don't know what it is) and I have faith more great things are in store for us in Pittsburgh.

To all those we are leaving behind, please know how much we love and care about each and every one of you.  For everyone in Pittsburgh... We're coming home!!!!  I hope you left the light on for us.

I have moved around the country a bit, but not since getting married and having kids. I can only imagine all that goes into it- wishing you the best of luck for an easy and smooth transition!
On another note- yea for the BURGH! I love Pittsburgh (lived there for grad school) and will be there next fall for the marathon! It is definitely a fun part of the country that I really enjoyed.
Again- good luck!
