That made me very sad, but I can't really fault the person that packed them. To most people they probably don't mean anything, but to me they represent blood, sweat and tears (literally) that have gone into my running "career".
So, like Amanda, I thought I'd show you some of my bling and share my favorites. So here they are. All my little medals.
I have 9 half marathon medals. I have run 10, but Zooma Texas gives out a necklace and not a medal.

Spirt of Pittsburgh November 2009

Rock n Roll Dallas March 2011

I have 2 Marathon medals.

I'm sad there was no medal for New York :(
I have one little age group medal, and even though the race was small, it makes me proud. It was for the Georgetown Super Sprint Triathlon. I took 2nd in my age group.
I also have this random medal for running more than 1 Rock n Roll event. It's nice and heavy, but I don't really feel like I "earned" it. Oh well, add it to the collection.
My favorite medals are definitely the medals I earned at Austin and Pittsburgh. Not because of any special reason, just because they LOOK awesome. I love the decorative ribbon and I like that they really represent the cities. Don't make me choose a favorite. I can't do it!
So there you have it. My bling. Not too exciting, but they're mine and they make me happy. Since they make me happy I decided I should stop shoving them in the bottom drawer in the bathroom and I finally ordered a proper medal display rack from Allied Medal Displays. I made a custom design and I think it's so cute.
I can't wait to get it and display it, if nothing else, than to make me smile!

that display is going to be awesome!
5 half marathons last year is pretty darn awesome! I also think the bling you received from George after NYC could have been included. That medal would have been great, but it would not have come in a pretty blue box!
